
Barnomadics- Automatic Playback (Banner) Film
Barnomadics, an Edinburgh based bar build and activation company, were looking to re-build their website in 2019, when we first began working together. They wanted their tired-looking website to be elevated, to reflect their position as a company that services the biggest names in the drinks industry.
They knew they wanted to communicate what the business does in an exciting and digestible way, and it became clear that video was the way to do that.
The film would feature on the Homepage of the website, to playback automatically as soon as the user visited the site. Mhairi worked closely with Rory, who had a clear sense of what working roles Barnomadics wanted to communicate.
We looked at examples like the San Franciscan company Derby Cocktail to get a feel for what was out there.
Since this was to be a silent montage film there would be no space to communicate by sound or text what the company was about. The images had to convey everything. We worked closely to plot the story, and think about the set-ups. Luckily this company have lots of to play with, and so we could build a bar façade to film the cocktail mixing shots.
Rory decided he wanted to tell the story of the business in a linear fashion. So, we plotted the story as so; from planning the bar design on the computer to building the bar to bar tending to packing up. Barnomadics are the full package, and that was the main thing to portray.
When the Barnomadics website launched in 2020 the video elevated the company’s online presence.

We've had so many lovely comments from clients, suppliers and staff on how good the video is, which indicates that our intentions for the video have been a resounding success. We now have dynamic content that reflects our services, brand and position in the market properly.”

Every Sole has continued to work with Barnomadics on other projects.
Including internal promotional films for a Strongbow give away at the SEC before a Chemical Brothers concert, and a Johnnie Walker pop-up bar build in Princess Street during the 2019 Edinburgh Festival.
